Chelmarsh Cricket Club

Established in 1902, Chelmarsh Cricket Club can be found nestled in the picturesque South Shropshire countryside.

We joined the Border Counties League until that league disbanded in 1991. In 1992 we joined the Shropshire County Cricket League and have been a member of that league ever since.

Our Teams

We are one of the modern day cricketing success stories in Shropshire. Our First XI has achieved multiple promotions from Division 4, all the way to playing the 2022 season in Division 1 of the Shropshire County Cricket League.

We have experienced growth in our player membership which enabled us to establish our first ever Second XI league team in 2020. Our Second XI currently play in Sunday Division 2 of the Shropshire County Cricket League.

However, our hot news has not finished there. 2022 has also seen the formation of our ladies section, the Chelmarsh Belles. We are a club that are going places.

Whether your are a serious cricketer looking to play at the highest standard possible or someone who wants a social game we believe we have something for you.

Socialising

We are lucky enough to have a friendly, social membership who also enjoy the social side of cricket. Players always enjoy a drink and meal after the game and we regularly meet up outside of the season. We also run numerous fundraising activities over the course of the year.

Why join Chelmarsh Cricket Club?

Players who have given us a trial have remained due to our friendly nature and genuine welcome to new members and their families.

Players benefit from having the backing of a proactive and dynamic committee. The committee ensures that we remain in a strong financial position while enabling the club to purchase equipment required for player development. And they do all this while keeping the subscriptions and match fees low. They re currently set to £60 per season for over 18s and £6 per match respectively.

We are always looking for new players! If you are considering playing for us and want to learn more then please contact Andy at [email protected] or you can get in touch via our contact page. We promise that you will not regret making that decision.
