Chelmarsh Cricket Club would like to put on record stating that we did not approve the release of the story on the front of the Bridgnorth Journal.

We had instructed the reporter involved to withhold the story until we had further discussions with the local authority and the national governing body of cricket, the ECB.

The early release of of information to the press by persons not within the cricket club may have a detrimental effect on our ongoing discussions and any further case we have.

When we have further insight we will release a statement.
